As we continue to move further and further down the rabbit hole with the Real Estate Distilled Podcast, we have needed to find ways to take the audio only podcast and share it on social media. Especially on Instagram where we are trying to find new members of the community. Turning the podcast into an “audiogram” has been a learning process. I think I’ve found our solution though. Astrofox is a free, open-source motion graphics program that lets you turn your audio into custom, sharable videos.
I recently shared how I had hit inbox ZERO to ring in the new year. A few people shared that they had several thousand emails in their inbox and found the task too daunting to even try. If you are using Gmail or Google’s hosted email service, here is a quick cheat sheet to rescue you from the pain. Anything older than 90 or maybe 60 days is lost in the abyss and you can mark them as read. You won’t be reading them anyway at this point. “is:unread older_than:90d” then select all and mark as read. Then concentrate on taking action on the emails from the last 60 or 90 days.
I’m still amazed at what a comeback the QR Code made during the pandemic. Of course it certainly helped that phone manufactures added QR code scanning functionality around 2017. It only took 23 years 🙂. Creating QR codes is pretty straight forward and I see people using Chrome a lot to create them. The little dinosaur in the middle is a dead give away. This tool from Adobe offers a bit more style and options, but is also free.
I personally own too many domain names. Some are for my personal business. Some are speculative that I plan to sell and some are for projects I hope to do in the future. What is a domain name worth? The reality is that domain is worth what someone is willing to pay for it and similar to a computerized auto-valuation wouldn’t be as accurate as a human evaluation of the niche, competition, etc. That being said, here is a new tool that provides some interesting insights about a domain and does provide a computerized valuation. I wouldn’t pay too much attention to the ACTUAL number, but again, the insights are interesting.
